What We Do

YHRF runs four programmes that work together to advance access to justice, build community capacity, and shape a fair legal environment for marginalised young people in Uganda.

Access to Justice

UYHRF runs a legal aid clinic, mobile legal camps, and paralegal support to give marginalised young people real access to justice. Since 2010 we have reached over 10,000 marginalised persons across Uganda.

Research and Advocacy

We produce research, legal analysis, and advocacy that push for a just legal and policy environment. Our work supports decriminalisation efforts and challenges laws that harm marginalised youth.

comunity

Community Capacity Building

We build the capacity of marginalised youth, community paralegals, and grassroots organisations so that young people can claim and defend their own rights inside their communities.

Why Choose UYHRF

We Defend Youth Rights with Skill and Integrity

UYHRF combines free legal aid, rigorous research, and grassroots capacity building to protect young people whose rights are most at risk in Uganda. We work where the need is greatest and we follow through.

Free Legal Aid for Marginalised Youth

Our legal aid clinic offers free representation, advice, and case follow-up for young people who cannot afford a lawyer or who have been failed by the system.

Strong Coalitions, Real Influence

We sit on the steering committees of leading human rights coalitions in Uganda and across the region, which lets us push for legal reform that protects young people at the policy level.

8 Active Coalitions
