UYHRF promotes respect and protection of human rights for young people, especially marginalised youth and youth from key populations in Uganda. We work through legal aid, advocacy, research, and capacity enhancement to advance access to justice for those most often left behind.
UYHRF Membership UYHRF is a membership organisation. It welcomes young people and allies who share our values, our aims, and our commitment to defending the rights of marginalised youth in Uganda.
Our Mission To promote respect and protection of human rights for young people, especially marginalised youth and youth from key populations, through legal aid, advocacy, research, strategic litigation, and capacity enhancement.
Internships UYHRF runs a structured internship for fresh law graduates and finalist students who are committed to youth rights advocacy and access to justice, and who are yet to undertake the Bar Course.
UYHRF is an independent, nonpartisan organisation working to advance the human rights of young people in Uganda, especially marginalised youth and youth from key populations. We provide legal aid, conduct research, lead strategic litigation, and build the capacity of young rights holders and the institutions that serve them.
YHRF runs four programmes that work together to advance access to justice, build community capacity, and shape a fair legal environment for marginalised young people in Uganda.
UYHRF combines free legal aid, rigorous research, and grassroots capacity building to protect young people whose rights are most at risk in Uganda. We work where the need is greatest and we follow through.
Our legal aid clinic offers free representation, advice, and case follow-up for young people who cannot afford a lawyer or who have been failed by the system.
We sit on the steering committees of leading human rights coalitions in Uganda and across the region, which lets us push for legal reform that protects young people at the policy level.
